Curdella Forbes
Curdella Forbes is a Jamaican fiction writer. Her work includes Songs of Silence (republished by Hodder, 2021, as a modern Caribbean classic), Ghosts, A Permanent Freedom, A Tall History of Sugar (winner of the 2020 Hurston-Wright Legacy Award for Fiction) and a story collection for children, Flying with Icarus and Other Stories. Her short fiction has appeared in anthologies and journals including Survivor, The Missing Slate, Strangers Guide, BIM and Jamaica Journal. She teaches Caribbean Literature at Howard University.
