Natalie Diaz

Natalie Diaz is Mojave and an enrolled member of the Gila River Indian Tribe. She is the author of When My Brother Was an Aztec, which was awarded an American Book Award, and Postcolonial Love Poem (Graywolf, 2020), winner of the Pulitzer Prize. She is a 2018 MacArthur Fellow, 2022-23 Mellon Presidential Fellow, Lannan Literary Fellow, Native Arts Council Foundation Artist Fellow, a Chancellor of the Academy of American Poets, and a member of the Board of Trustees for the United States Artists, where she is an alumna of the Ford Fellowship. Diaz is a Professor, Director of the Center for Imagination in the Borderlands, and the Maxine and Jonathan Marshall Chair in Modern and Contemporary Poetry at Arizona State University.
