Maxine Walters

Maxine Walters is a Jamaican creative force—film producer, PR consultant, art director, singer-songwriter (“One Light Four Wheel”), conceptual artist, curator, and creator of A-Kanga sarongs. A passionate collector of Outsider art, she preserved over 4,000 Dancehall street signs, elevating them to fine art. Her book Serious Things a Go Happen was featured in The New Yorker, Vogue, and on Arté. She’s showcased Jamaican culture worldwide—from the Dakar Biennale to Miami, Paris, Berlin, Montreal, and Brazil—and earned the Jamaican Order of Distinction in 2017. Known as “Auntie Max,” she’s an entrepreneur, storyteller, and proud mom to Chloe.
