Michael Ondaatje
Michael Ondaatje was born in Sri Lanka in 1943, and in 1962 he moved to Canada. He is the author of several novels, books of poetry, a memoir, and a non-fiction book on film editing. His novel The English Patient won the Booker Prize in 1992 and became a major motion picture that won nine Academy Awards. Anil’s Ghost won the Irish Times International Fiction Prize, the Scotiabank Giller Prize, and the Prix Médicis. He is also the author of In the Skin of a Lion, Divisadero, The Cat’s Table, Warlight and his latest book of poetry, A Year of Last Things, which was published in 2024. He lives in Toronto.
