Barbara Makeda Blake Hannah is a Jamaican journalist, broadcaster and filmmaker. She is the author of two books, Rastafari — The New Creation (Jamaica Media Productions Limited, 1997), an illustrated thesis on the beliefs and practices of the Rastafari religion; and Joseph — A Rasta Fable (Jamaica Media Productions Limited, 1996), a novel set in the 1970’s about a reggae superstar. Macmillan will reissue Joseph in the fall of 2004. A former independent senator in the Jamaican Parliament from 1984 to 1987, Ms. Hannah has been a Rastafarian for 30 years, and is today considered an Elder Empress of the Jamaican faith. She is a nationally known writer and broadcaster whose themes encompass Black history and culture, current affairs, entertainment and lifestyle from a Rastafarian perspective. Program: Brother Man |
